About

I have had the privilege to teach piano for the past 8 years! I have received my Master's in music education and have become a published arranger. I have recently relocated to Massachusetts from a large studio in Chicago where I was teaching over 40 students. I enjoy teaching so much! It gives me so much joy to be able to have helped so many students connect to an instrument that is so amazing and so beautiful!

I love recitals. It gives the students the opportunity to share their work with family and friends. It also pushes the student to strive to do more than they have ever done. As a teacher, watching students perform is such a highlight!

Frequently asked questions

I offer a free 15-minute introductory lesson where I will meet with the student and discuss past experience, future goals, and practicing expectations. I enjoy this first meeting because it gives student and teacher a chance to meet each other before we dive right in!

I have been teaching for 8 years. I have also received my Bachelor's and Master's in music education.

I charge $25 for a 30-minute lesson.

For more advanced students, I offer 45-minute lessons for 35 and 60-minute lessons for $50.

For families with 3 or more students, I offer reduced rates.

I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old! I taught my first lesson at 16. While still in college, I was offered a job at an established studio where I taught for 4 years.

I have worked with students of all ages, and have even spent the last year or so working with a couple of special needs students.

I love recitals! Recitals, to me, are the most exciting days of the year! They give students a chance to perform and to show off their talents to friends and family. And they give me as a teacher an outstanding sense of pride in how much work they have put in!!

Ask a lot of questions! Does the teacher have experience working with your age group? With your level of study? Does the teacher have frequent recitals? (This is such an important thing!) What method of method books does the teacher use? Do they emphasize sight reading? Does the teacher emphasize ear training?

How much time do I have to practice?

Do I have an appropriate piano/keyboard?

What experience have I already had with piano?

What is my goal in learning to play the piano?
