About

It is our pleasure to welcome you and your family to Making Moves Dance Collective. We are proud to offer a competitive and recreational dance studio to the DC/Maryland/Virginia area that caters to everyone. MMDC is located in Prince George's County conveniently located on the cusp of Greenbelt, Laurel, College Park, and Beltsville.

Making Moves offers an innovative and energetic environment for aspiring and professional dancers. Our choreographers facilitate diverse bodies of works, so Making Moves' dancers are technically and artistically versatile.

We strive to provide superb technical training while developing students’ confidence, poise and self-esteem. Although dance is our objective, our priority is the overall development of every student who crosses our threshold. Along with exposing Making Moves' students to dance conventions, competitions and community performances, students are eligible and encouraged to participate in our annual recital to showcase their talents to family and friends!

In addition, not only do we encourage physical activity through dance, we believe that healthy living is very important to everyone, but especially dancers. Every year we focus on our Health Awareness Series: Body, Mind, and Soul starting April 1st. Each week the studio will focus on an aspect of health and bring awareness to the students and families of MMDC. We want to encourage parents and students to incorporate healthy alternatives in their everyday lifestyle.

Our Mission:

Making Moves’ mission is to provide a safe and positive arts environment to at-risk and underserved individuals in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. Making Moves offers a quality and diverse dance environment to a community that is underrepresented in the arts.
