How did you get started teaching?
As a young professional wanting to learn more and expand my horizons. I then fell in love with not only teaching but the children and families I meet along the way.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages! Currently, my youngest student is 4 and oldest is 30!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Having a student share with me her frustrations regarding a certain piece. She spoke openly, and trusting of me and the process. She knows we will conquer it together; she with a great sense of accomplishment. Then its onto the next challenge! :)
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Think about how you want to express yourself on the violin and with your thoughts, words and imagination. If we can align in those categories, you will excel! Be ready to work hard and play hard :)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Can I think of a creative way to practice? Have I gone through the step process my teacher has already offered? Am I stumped and need more ideas? Can we share our thoughts, and process together openly - then lets figure it out together!
