We believe strongly that everyone should be able to learn and grow, regardless of ability or disability. We have extensive experience working with children and adults with learning disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities (including Autism), anxiety, trauma, and physical deformities.

What an amazing musical journey you are about to embark upon! I'd be honored to guide you on this path, offering personalized lessons tailored to your unique dreams, interests and abilities.

Since 1989, I've had the privilege of sharing my passion for music with students of all ages and abilities. When the world went online, it opened up a wonderful new way to connect, and I've found immense satisfaction in crafting lessons that are not only educational but also filled with hope and discovery. I believe in gentle guidance, patience, and understanding, meeting you exactly where you are. My greatest reward is witnessing that spark when you realize the joy and enrichment music brings to your life!

Tuition is $150 monthly for weekly 25 minute lessons; 40-55 minute lessons are available as your needs evolve. Although I rely on students who can pay full price, please, please reach out even if that's not you. Everyone deserves the hope and joy that music brings, and I am committed to making lessons accessible.

Book your FREE trial lesson today! This is our chance to connect, to feel that spark of shared passion, and for you to experience my teaching style. https://hopethroughmusic.online/booking

Malena is patient, encouraging, flexible, generous, and an inspiration. She is everything you could ever ask for in a piano teacher. Every time I come across a lesson, song, or technique that feels frustrating or confusing, she finds an innovative way to tackle it or explain it. I took lessons when I was a kid and wanted to get back into piano for 14 years, but I found it extremely difficult to find anyone who offered lessons outside of the standard 9-5 work week for a reasonable rate. Not only does Malena offer flexible times for lessons, but her rates are totally feasible, and shes even more flexible now with the option of video lessons. Ive grown as a piano player by leaps and bounds in the last year alone, and have had wonderfully positive experiences with our showcase recitals (even with my immense stage fright). I adore Malena and cant recommend her enough.

    1) Choose a date and time for a free trial music lesson that works well for both student and teacher at https://www.musicandmore.academy/scheduling

She is a member of the MTNA (Music Teacher's National Association), which provides us with ongoing training for music teachers. We have worked with students:
    - Age 2 to seniors
    - Who have Autism, anxiety, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, Trauma, Williams Syndrome, Downs Syndrome, and many more challenges
    - Who want to learn many different types of musical instruments or singing.
    - Who are hard of hearing
    - Who have peech impediments/delays
    - Who are Non-verbal
    - And more.

Our bi-annual Showcases are so much fun, & students really connect! Students are able to choose their own pieces to work on, and we work on performance skills, performance anxiety, & collaboration with other students if interested. After each Showcase we have students who decide to collaborate on projects for the next Showcase! So exciting!

Meet the potential teacher first, whether for a chat or for a trial lesson. You want to be sure that you feel that teacher can help you reach your specific goals, and that the teacher is knowledgable in the area in which you want lessons.

    1) What is your overall, long-term musical goal? Where would you like to be in 10 years? 5 years?

    2) Which type(s) of lesson would you need to take to reach that goal?

    3) Write down specific questions you'd like a potential teacher to answer for you.

    4) Do you have any challenges that would affect your ability to learn, practice, and/or participate in your lessons?

    5) How much can you afford monthly for lessons? What is your budget?

    6) If your budget is low, research whether there are teachers or programs available to teach you for what you can afford.
