About

Hi! My name is Ariel Kulbacki. I became an active SAA member in 2012. Suzuki violin has long been a part of my life. I began studying Suzuki Violin with Patricia Reiter of Dearborn at the age of four, and later studied with Elaine Osterbur of Clinton Township. I participated in the Metropolitan Youth Symphony through 8th grade and I studied music at Wayne State University for two years, under Laura Roelofs of the Detroit Opera House. Kypros Markou of the Dearborn Symphony was my conductor with the Wayne State University Orchestra.

We even performed at Orchestra Hall! I taught at a local music store for seven years before opening my own home studio, "Mermaid Music" early 2013. I am currently in the process of getting my Suzuki training up to Book 4. I attended the Every Child Can course with Suzuki piano teacher Rita Hauck in late April of 2012, and I finished my Book 1 training under Wendy Azrak of Ann Arbor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in late June of 2012. I completed my Unit 2 training the summer of 2014 in Kitchner, Ontario under Paule Barsalou at SOSI. I returned to SOSI the summer of 2015 and took the new course Revisiting Book One under the instruction of Joanne Melvin.

I am very passionate about my role as a Suzuki Violin Instructor, and I love watching these small students blossom before their parent's and my eyes. We learn focus, we learn discipline, we learn respect, we learn to become better people--and oh yeah! We learn to play the violin too! I'm a whole hearted believer in Dr. Suzuki's methods, and am living proof that indeed, just as every child learns to speak the native language of their country, every child can learn to play the violin! Talent indeed can be taught. So let's go on a life changing musical journey together!
