Strings In The Woods
About
I teach from Twinkle to Tchaikovsky. I love the violin....to play and to teach. My goal for a student, is to enjoy music, and develop skills to express individual musical ideas. Each student learns in her his style, and I use many styles to accomplish goals. My students range from professionals who have graduated from top conservatories, to adults who want to learn new skills.....ages 3-75.
I am a graduate of Juilliard School with Artist Diploma, and have studied Suzuki Method.
My professional performance experience is extensive, including chamber music, orchestral, solo, opera, ballet studio work, and Broadway Shows.
I was Chairman of the String Dept.at Institute of Music and Dance in Detroit for 20 years, where I developed a full programme for several hundred students.
Love opening minds to the magic of music. I only accept students who agree to practice 6 days a week.... this builds the muscle memory to get comfortable on the violin
