About
I’m a classically trained pianist with 13 years of experience, and I’ve been taught by well-regarded teachers with extensive backgrounds in teaching and performance. I’m also a Junior at Michigan State University studying Anthropology and Sociology, and I’m pursuing a minor in piano. I have 4 years of experience teaching and tutoring students aged 7-18 in English and in various social sciences and visual arts. Working with a wide range of ages and subjects has helped me develop a nuanced and adaptive teaching style that supports all types of learners. I believe music offers a unique way of looking into ourselves and at the world around us, and I hope to provide my students with a foundation in technique and musicality to inspire their own creative adventures.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s interests and goals, incorporating music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and exploration. Lessons include developing organizational skills, self-discipline, goal-setting, and drive.
Students are expected to practice regularly. Assignments and expectations are personalized for each student, and progress is tracked to celebrate milestones and achievements.
Parents should provide loving, encouraging support, focusing on their child’s progress and strengths. Motivation helps foster discipline and positivity.
