Keys To Please Piano Studio
About
I have taught piano lessons, since I was 15 years old and I studied music (piano) to make this my profession. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and enjoy passing on the passion for music to my students.
I have a BMus from Andrews University, a ASMus from the Royal Schools of Music in London and a LTCL from Trinity College in London, England.
I teach weekly lessons, mostly during the school year and encourage my students to enter and have me prepare them for the Achievement Day Testing set up by the MMTA (Michigan Music Teachers Association) of which I am a member of since my move into the USA in 2006. This is not a must, though, and my studio has recitals for Christmas and in the spring.
Many of my students also get to play in their local churches and some prepare to be part of the rotating church pianists, that are always in high demand.
My students do well in their recitals and piano exams and I had a number of students already go on to study music in college as well. Any age and level is welcome!
It gives me much satisfaction to see my students learn skills and learn to appreciate good music through the process of producing it themselves. It makes me happy, when they have break-throughs and learn to play pieces that they never thought they could learn when they first heard them. It is very rewarding to be there, when my students see themselves be able to confidently perform in front of others or just be able to gain a confidence in their own skill of music making.
