About
I absolutely love teaching music to kids. I taught elementary music for 12 years in MN before moving to Lawrence, Michigan in 2017. I have given private lessons for five years and love the one-on-one with students. I have my Bachelor of Arta in Instrumental Music Education & my Master's. I cater to each students need based on their learning style.
I love when students see their accomplishments & progressions. The excitement they have for a new found skill or achievement is so rewarding to me as a teacher.
** As of right now, I’m only able to do lessons during the school day, as that’s what works for my schedule while my own kids are in school. Homeschool kids are primarily the only ones able to do this.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start with the basics of the instrument they want to play. From there, we start learning to play the instrument. I like to move slowly so the student doesn't feel overwhelmed and defeated. I incorporate music reading into our lessons, so it doesn't matter if they know anything about music reading or not.
