The Heard Studio also known as "Transcendence" focuses on the entire performer. I believe that singers and pianists alike must have a safe space to perfect their craft while having fun. Transcendence focuses on Classical Voice, Jazz Voice, Gospel Voice, and Musical Theater, along with piano for a limited amount of students.
I specialize in all of these styles and have performed each style, as a soloist, on major stages including Carnegie Hall in New York, and Mirabell Schloss in Salzburg Austria.
I received my Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Central State University. I began my Masters of Music Work in Voice at Louisiana State University and will complete Masters work in Educational Leadership at Central Michigan University Spring of 2020. I will begin the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Music Education Fall of 2020.
I was a 1st Place winner of the Buckeye division of the National Association of Teachers of Singing auditions in 2015. I was also a winner of the University of Miami Program at Salzburg competition in Austria. My students have been seen on the stages of Carnegie Hal, Lincoln Center, the Grammy Awards, the Stellar Awards, the Dove Awards, and many other major stages.
I enjoy hearing the enjoyment in my students' voices even when the work is hard. I enjoy the immediate satisfaction of seeing a student reach their goal in a lesson and wanting to go to the next step. Making music with my students and listening to their story through their art is the most rewarding thing about this work.
