About
As a trained Suzuki instructor (Books 1-8) and a doctoral graduate in violin performance, my teaching expands from beginners to college level students.
Many of my students have been accepted into very prestigious youth orchestras across the country as well as high-level music camps and festivals. I expect all of my students to practice efficiently and to put in the time to reach their potential. My number one goal with my students is to help them find their own musical voice.
In addition to teaching, I am a frequent player with the Grand Rapids and Utah Symphonies.
For me, the best part of teaching is learning! Each student brings something new and unique to the table, and I am always seeking out ways to become a better and more well-rounded teacher.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Lessons are tailored to each of my student's individual needs. At our first trial lesson, I hear my student play and we talk about future goals and aspirations. Then we discuss how much individual practice time is needed per day to reach those goals.
