I love teaching piano! I strive to help my students master reading notes and playing to their best ability. I am excited to learn the music my students are interested in. Once basic skills are learned, I love to help my students master songs of their choice, including but not limited to pop, Disney, holiday music etc. I have 13 years experience with ages 4 1/2 to 13. I currently give after school lessons and also teach at people's homes.
I love to see my students excited about being able to play a song they have been working on. They are happy to master a song or lesson and feel confident performing for others.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I use the Faber series. I also incorporate music that my students are interested in. I teach by reading notes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been studying music for over 20 years. I started with the clarinet and then started taking piano lessons. I also have 18 years of teaching experience working at school and directly with clients.

I charge $25 per 30 minutes.
How did you get started teaching?
i started teaching because I work at a school ages 5-12 and one summer I was asked if I could teach piano as a summer school activity. A lot of children have signed up and all spaces have been filled for years and years. I currently have 40 students including school and home lessons.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children that have autism and some behavior difficulties but through music we have been able to have fun and learn in a positive way.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You will need a keyboard to practice on and sharpen your skills.
