Chengyuan Han (Charlie) is a composer, arranger, producer and music editor with 9 years of experience and Charlie also studied keyboard instruments (Piano, Electone and Portable Keyboard) for 23 years. A DMA candidate in the Music Composition & Theory program at the Michigan State University and also hold an MFA degree in the Music Production & Sound Design for Visual Media program at the Academy of Art University, Charlie has worked with a variety of creative teams to produce and polish music and sound for television shows, video games, and commercials, such as Music for 2015 San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade, Opening Music for CNN TV program, and music for Tencent Game Series.
Outside his work in music composition and production, Charlie plays keyboard instruments, drums and Guitar with the Pop-music band. He also teaches piano and music theory to other people. Charlie enjoys working in teams and passionate about creating and playing music with others.
During the course of my career, I have worked with a variety of creative teams to produce and polish music and sound for television shows, video games and commercials.
1. What are your 3 strongest attributes?
a) Studied Keyboard Instruments (Piano, Electone and Portable Keyboard) for more than 20 years. Had experiences to teach people piano for more than 5 years.
b) Composed music for television shows, video games and commercials, such as Music for 2015 San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade.
c) Not only familiar with keyboard instruments, but also have music composition, production, music theory background.
2. What makes you suited for this position?
a) I have good skills on piano and other keyboard instruments and I also have experience in teaching people.
b) Because I studied music composition, production and theory, so I can create new method and use different way to teach people piano. I also give student additional knowledge, such as analysis scores and ear training.
c) “Stay hungry, stay foolish”, I always want to push me harder, try to study from others, also I can improve and try to do my best during my teaching time.
3. What success are you most proud of?
Continuous learning music more than 20 years; through my own efforts to find music work in the gaming department, composed music for video and mobile games at the Tencent Company and I also create lots of music for many visual media.

My Undergraduate and Graduate degree is Music Composition & Production for Visual Media, and right now I am a doctoral student study Music Composition & Theory at Michigan State University.
I have enough knowledge not only for keyboard skills but also for ear training, composition, music reading, music theory and improvisation.
