Marjorie Scott
About
Hello! My name is Marjorie, and I’m a classically trained pianist who studied at the Moscow Conservatory from ages 12 to 18 on a full scholarship. Music has shaped my life in every way, and teaching allows me to share that passion with others in a meaningful and uplifting way.
Working with me is encouraging, supportive, and structured. I meet each student exactly where they are — whether they’re complete beginners or already comfortable at the piano. I focus on building strong technique, confidence, and musical expression, while keeping lessons positive, inspiring, and tailored to each student’s needs. My students often describe me as patient, warm, and easy to learn from.
I do an excellent job because I combine professional classical training with a deep understanding of how students learn best. I explain concepts clearly, adapt quickly to each student’s learning style, and create an environment where they feel safe to grow, make mistakes, and discover their own love for music. My goal is to help every student feel proud of their progress and excited to come to lessons.
Something that I think makes me stand out from other teachers in my field with the same level of education and skill is that I only want to help you to reach YOUR goals and help you discover new goals, if that goal for is a song you want to learn for someone or something, or a skill you want to achieve, or even to pursue music as a career. I've been teaching for over 7 years now and I've done it all from touring as a concert pianist (soloist) and playing with ensemble (symphonies, quartets, trios, duets).
I will be there to encourage/support you through it all if you'll have me!
I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your musical goals!
