Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If a student is a begginner we start with an age appropriate song book(s) and start from the basics. Students always have an input in the types of music we learn.
If a student has experience, the first lesson we evaluate where the student is and talk about what they would like to learn and work on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am college educated music educator for over 20 years.
I am a member of several music organizations:
Michigan Music Association, Board Member, Past President
National Guild of Piano Teachers, 15 years
National Guild Auditions: Chairperson 9 years
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching right out of High School. I loved it so much that I shaped my life so that I could teach students for my full time career.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with ages 3-89 years. All levels and abilities. I have helped several students from elementary to their college auditions. I have worked with learning disabilites and health issues such as arthritis and autism.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In February some of my students participated in the Michigan Music Association annual competition. Everyone had a great time. Students really enjoy seeing the other students play.
In May we will be playing "National Guild Auditions" and in June will be our annual recital.

How much practice should I expect each week?
How commited do you want to be? Casual playing? Hobby? College Prep?
