What is your typical process for working with a new student?

When a student first joins us, we take them thru the workout and the basics of the system so they can quickly familiarize themselves with what we do and why.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Adam is the only Israeli certified Krav Maga black belt in the Metro Detroit area. He is also one of only three people in the world to have a black belt in both Krav Maga and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is also a Kickboxing black belt and was a Jeet Kune Do instructor under Paul Vunak.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

The memberships are all unlimited, so you can come in to as many classes as you can fit into your schedule. We have 12 adult Krav Maga, 11 adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, 6 youth Krav, and 5 youth Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes per week.

For our adult programs, the month to month membership is $139 per month, month to month with a year agreement goes down to $129 per month, and you receive two months free when you pay for a year in full at $1390. There is a one time enrollment fee of $60, which includes two shirts, hand wraps, a belt, and a membership card.

How did you get started teaching?

Having trained in combat oriented martial arts for over 25 years, Adam clearly knows where his passion is and made that his career.

What types of students have you worked with?

We take on people from all walks of life, from 300 LB women to the competitive athlete. Some are Doctors, and some bus boys. We make each persons experience specific to their unique needs and modify the technique to work for their situation, including injuries.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Adam takes pride in helping our Law Enforcement community and has taught at the Michigan Tactical Officers Association conference for the past two years.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure their credentials are legit, and try them out. You have to make sure you like the instructors and the people that you will be training with. Gyms vary greatly, and we feel you'll thoroughly enjoy the environment here at Mada.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Just know what your interests are. Are you in the classes for the physical fitness aspect of it, or more for the self defense training? Your instructor can cater your experience to what you are looking for.
