Our high-energy twin boys started with Joe when they were 8 years old. We were looking for a nontraditional guitar teacher, someone who would keep music exciting and go with the learning styles of our kids. That is EXACTLY what we got! Joe has followed their interests and even helped them learn the basics to songs they hear on the radio. They have gained confidence and skill faster than we could have ever imagined. He connects with the boys well and explains things in ways they can understand. They are learning drums, guitar, and explore the synthesizer too. They are learning song writing and to analyze music. He also does jam sessions with them where they can let go and be creative. We are so happy to have found Joe!

David is the best teacher out there! Many times I’ve struggled at the kit, whether it’s playing in odd time signatures, improving my brush work, or learning to solo, and David always has an approach that seems designed for me (although I’m guessing he’s just seen it all). I like that he’s extremely patient and non-judgmental. He also provides lengthy lesson recaps that go way above and beyond the call, which makes me appreciate the value I’m getting. Plus he’s fun to hang out with and talk music and drums. I love our weekly lessons!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time studying under Mr. Schoeneman. He is incredibly patient and works at a comfortable pace, while still pushing me. I have been able to apply everything he has taught me while playing every day and playing for my church youth group worship band. Overall, I would highly recommend Spencer to anyone who wants to improve their drumming skills.
