I am native of Venezuela. I came to this country in 1980 mainly because at the time music was not taught in Universities in my country. I had a very strong desire to have a college degree although I had acquired a good music background in Venezuela, both through private lessons and conservatory studies.
My first step was at Indiana University. I considered Bloomington, Indiana, a great place to raise my four children as well as to get my very coveted degree. The three years I thought it would take got stretched to 36 years now. I never went back to my country except for family visits.
My family of four children has now expanded to include six grandchildren and my dear in-laws.
I'm also a Suzuki Piano Teacher. You can see my profile at https://suzukiassociation.org/people/beatriz-aguerrevere/
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I divide the whole year tuition in 9 payments due the first day of the month between September and May.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching back in Venezuela by suggestion of my piano teacher at the time. That recommendation gave me a strong believe on my abilities.
