Daniel Eras Piano Studio
About
I’m a professional pianist and piano teacher with over 16 years of experience working with students of all ages, from beginners to advanced players and returning adults. I’ve taught in private studios, pre-college programs, and at the university level in both Minnesota and New York City, and I currently teach at NYU.
I offer both in-person and online lessons, and my teaching combines strong technical foundations, musicianship, and music theory. With graduate degrees in both Piano Performance and Music Theory, I’m able to support students not only at the piano but also with theory, ear training, and overall musical development. I prepare students for recitals, exams (RCM/ABRSM), auditions, or personal goals.
Alongside teaching, I’ve performed internationally at venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Moscow International House of Music, and have received top prizes in several national and international piano competitions. I hold master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Music Theory from the University of Minnesota and am currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at NYU.
My approach is structured but flexible: I challenge students while keeping lessons engaging and supportive. Whether you’re pursuing piano seriously or learning for personal enjoyment, I aim to help you build confidence, independence, and a lasting connection to music.
