I believe everyone benefits from music lessons with the primary goal being to have fun with it! If you're not having fun, why do it? I use methods and materials uniquely tailored to each student's learning style and interests. I cover all aspects of music: history, theory, repertoire, technic, artistry, composition, etc.
I love sharing music with my students to achieve their individual goals. I encourage competition only with yourself and not others -- building on foundations and seeking continued growth and skill level.

Ive been taking lessons with Laurie Helmers for over ten years now. She is like a grandmother to me at this point. She is a fantastic piano teacher, and I have learned a lot from her skillwise and also in the theory area as well. She strives for excellence and is truly devoted to her students.
