About
I offer piano lessons (both Suzuki and traditional classical) to students ages 5 and up. I teach a wide range of styles including pop, and can work with students interested in learning modern music and building arrangements from the ground up.
I can also offer tips on singing and playing at the same time, coaching on performance anxiety, theory lessons, and composition lessons.
My studio is located in the heart of South Asheville with convenient on site parking.
I'm happy to offer all lessons.com referrals the first 2 piano lessons FREE!
I absolutely LOVE teaching, as my students will tell you! Check out the many reviews on Thumbtack.com if you'd like to hear from them directly.
I love to get folks playing songs they think are fun and challenging, and even more than that, I love watching people's skill sets grow and flourish through a combination of weekly lessons and daily practice.
It's so rewarding to see a student light up when they can finally play that song they've always wanted to master. So. Much. Fun!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically I like to start with a quick phone call to discuss your piano goals. From there we will set up a time for your first free lesson. During that first free lesson, we will get you started playing right away with some music appropriate for your skill level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am Suzuki certified and have my Bachelors of Arts in Music from Adrian College, in Adrian, MI.
Additionally I am a seasoned performer, fronting various bands locally for the past 8 years. My latest project, Bombay Gasoline, can be seen locally and touring regionally.
I'm a recording artist and have several EPs to my credit, including Horseflesh, my 2016 EP with my former project Poet Radio.
As a performer, I've had the opportunity to play and sing in many venues, ranging from busking on the street, to playing bar gigs, clubs, festivals, and even Carnegie Hall.
I'm also a current member of the Asheville Symphony Chorus.
