Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During my first lesson with a student I like to spend about 10-15 minutes analyzing their game by starting with some short court warm up and transitioning into full court hitting.
Once I am able to point out some strengths and weaknesses I am able to tailor a lesson plan unique to each student.
I also am open to hearing what new students want to work on as sometimes students begin with "I'd like to work on my serve" so then I'll warm up with my students and get right to it analyzing their serve. Just one example.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional (one of the highest nationally recognized certifications) since 2018.
I have been a high school coach and worked in the private sector of tennis for 5 years and am currently working as the Head Tennis Professional for the Prosperity Athletic Club.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Please inquire.
How did you get started teaching?
I have played tennis for almost 20 years and have played in USTA (junior/adult), UTR, and in the college system as well. Once I graduated I started teaching at the Cary Tennis Park and Southern Village Club earning my USPTA Certification along the way. After 3 years at Southern Village I became the Director of Tennis for the Cleveland Country Club. I am now currently the Head Tennis Professional at the Prosperity Athletic Club.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 4 years old all the way up to students 60+
I love working will all ages and my time as a high school coach gave me experience with the 13-18 year old age group.
Most of my students have fallen within the 10-18 age range but I love working with all age groups and genders.
