Hi there!

I get excited to know when someone is thinking of ways to partner with me in ending childhood obesity and finding healthier options for eating for themselves, as well as their family!

I am a career changer, former teacher turned Chef. After working with Early Elementary school students for over 16 years and noticing the lack of quality food being offered to those I taught due to their socioeconomic status. I decided to dive a little deeper into my passion for food and cooking full time. So off to Culinary School I went. I survived and graduated. Then, because I felt like I needed more hands on training, I traveled to France to complete an apprenticeship. Shortly after I returned home, I began looking for ways to help bring healthy cooking ideas to the plates of all children and families, not just those that seemed able to afford them. Now finally, as a Culinary Instructor and Personal Chef, I am able to marry my two true loves, teaching and cooking! But I am also able to highlight the critical skills of nutrition and healthy cooking, so that everyone can make decisions that will change our future.

I truly believe that healthy eating is essential to our livelihood. If we are educated about ingredients, where they come from and how they can benefit us, are willing to be fun and creative, then we will have the best experiences when cooking!

I like to get to know the student by letting them know about myself and getting information about them as well. I enjoy engaging in an icebreaker with them and then finding out their goals, desires, needs, likes and dislikes. 

I hold a Culinary Certificate, Food Service Handler's License and over 10 years of catering and restaurant experience. 

Virtual Cooking Classes range from 1 to 2 hours. Prices range from $20-$35 per class/per household based on the timeframe and degree of difficulty of the lesson. 

I started teaching in traditional school after coming out of college. I taught Preschool, Early Childhood and Elementary School for 16+ years. I have been teaching cooking classes for 3 years. 

Children ages 2-17. 

I adapted a traditional Stir Fry Cooking lesson to one that could be made in the microwave. The organization I serviced for this event reached out and informed me that they're students weren't in stable housing due to the transitional status of their who had been incarcerated. I wanted to ensure that these children, regardless of their socioeconomic status or housing status, we're still afforded the opportunity to learn about healthy eating and feel empowered to create and eat a healthy meal. The kids were extremely invested and were surprised that not only could they make a tasty, healthy meal, but that it could be done in a microwave.
