About
Boruff Violin Studio is a premier, violin-exclusive lesson studio servicing the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area and is one of the largest studios of its kind in the region. Our goal is to help others learn how to enjoy music, specifically by playing the violin; and we are absolutely committed to helping our students set and achieve their own goals. We love guiding our students on their journey to success, whether it be learning how to play a favorite song, winning a competition, or getting that spot in an orchestra. Our students come to us from all over the Charlotte and Lake Norman region, including Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, Concord, Harrisburg, Mint Hill, Matthews, Fort Mill, Belmont, Gastonia, Lincolnton, and Denver, among others. We have successfully helped our students audition for the Charlotte Youth Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Youth Symphony Philharmonic, Cornelius Youth Orchestras, CMS Honors Orchestras, and NC ASTA All-State Orchestra, among other organizations. At Boruff Violin Studio, our teaching philosophy is predicated upon understanding the “why’s” before undertaking the “how’s” of violin technique. If you are interested in learning to play the violin, there is no better time to start than now!
Our goal is to provide the highest quality violin pedagogy to as many students of all ages and backgrounds as possible. We LOVE the opportunity to help our students on the musical journey. Students – as young as age 3 all the way to retirees, and total beginners to advanced players – are accepted into our studio. If you have ever had the desire to play the violin, don’t wait! What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At Boruff Violin Studio, we strive to offer the best teaching in the area. We understand that a good violin teacher must be excellent in both playing and teaching ability, so our teachers are all professional violinists and educators.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you don't have a violin yet, make sure you find your teacher before you get a violin. A good teacher will be able to point you in the direction of a good, quality instrument.
