About
I am a music lover and enthusiast that wants to share the joy of music with my students!! I work with people from all walks of life and whether you can commit to sessions once a week or even just once a month I am sure we will have lots of fun!
I create lessons that are tailored to meet each student's individual goals and interests. I have experience playing Classical as well as Irish/Celtic folk music but can help students navigate different musical styles that they want to play. Students can expect to learn in a positive, fun, and no-pressure environment at their own pace.
Students will learn how to read music, how to properly hold and care for the violin, and how to play and construct basic scales, among other techniques and skills. I have played with the Meredith College Sinfonietta as well as a traditional Celtic folk group and even had the opportunity to play in a wedding ceremony. I have even recently had the opportunity to play in a community event with the Virginia State Orchestra.
My lessons cater to the hobbyist wanting to learn music for fun and enjoyment at almost any age. As a mom I understand that things may change within our lives so I am fully understanding and will never turn a student away due to lack of practicing. I am here to help students have fun while learning and that can happen at any moment!
Fun Fact: I have 15+ years of teaching experience through martial arts as I started teaching classes when I was 9 years old and my parents used to own a gym!
I hope we get to work together and feel free to ask me questions!!
