Kelsey has studied piano privately for 23 years and is a 2011 graduate of Bowling Green State University, where she received a Bachelor of Music in piano performance with a specialization in piano pedagogy. Previously a student at Cedarville University, she received two years of keyboard pedagogy training with Mrs. Connie Anderson and enjoyed private piano instruction with Dr. Charles Clevenger. After transferring to BGSU, Kelsey studied three years with Dr. Solungga Fang-Tzu Liu, and was also able to serve as president of the student chapter of BG OMTA (Ohio Music Teachers Association) for the 2010-11 school year. After two years of student teaching at Cedarville University, Kelsey moved to Toledo, Ohio and taught in the Toledo area for an additional six years. While in Toledo, Kelsey was active as a collaborative pianist and member of The Camarata Music Club, OFMC (Ohio Federation of Music Clubs), and MTNA (Music Teachers National Association). In 2013, Kelsey relocated to the Charlotte, North Carolina area to begin her own private piano studio. Kelsey is a member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), NFMC (National Federation of Music Clubs), NCMTA (North Carolina Music Teachers Association), and CPTF (Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum).In addition to classical instruction, Kelsey has been a church musician for fourteen years. In 2003, she participated in the Talents for Christ piano competition and placed first in the state level and second in nationals. Kelsey also served as the main keyboardist for HeartSong Touring Teams, a ministry of Cedarville University, for the 2005-06 season.
