Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find out what students' particular needs are. Everyone is different! Some come in to build a solid vocal technique. Others come in for advice on audition song selection. Some want to get a better color and quality from their voice. And I do get people who want to work on their music sight-reading skills or acting skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor of fine arts degree from the university of Texas at San Antonio and did my master's of music performance work at the University of Houston.
I have sung opera in many places around the world and have worked with many professional and back-up singers who sang with Cher, The Backstreet Boys, Selena (for example).

How did you get started teaching?
After travelling the world as a singer, I wanted to settle down and find a wonderful studio where I would be able to imart my knowledge and experience I had gained to others in a meaningful way!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have been very lucky that I have had the chance to work with famous actors and actresses, singers on Broadway, back-up singers on world tours to many great artists.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I went to a vocal competition which was in the style of "The Voice." The competitors were mostly highschool aged. I was extremely amazed at the talent and tenacity of these singers.
