Yuriy Galkin performed at such major venues and festivals as Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Southbank Centre, Vladivostok Jazz Festival, Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Hall, London Jazz Festival, Hull Jazz Festival, Barbican Centre, The Drill Hall and many more. Yuriy's name appeared at such major publications as The Guardian, Jazzwise Magazine, Bass Guitar Magazine, Jazz Journal, Jazz Weekly, Culture Jazz France, The Telegraph to name a few and his music was broadcasted worldwide.
Yuriy Galkin graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London, UK where he resided from 2005 till 2012. As a bandleader, in 2012 he released his critically acclaimed debut album with a nine-piece band “Nine Of A Kind”. Yuriy Galkin Nonet toured the UK the same year.
Yuriy Galkin resides permanently in New York City since 2017. His latest 2019 release “...For Its Beauty Alone” features world-renowned musicians David Binney - who also produced the album - Matt Mitchell and Rudy Royston.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I employ healthy and efficient practicing and teaching technique through relaxation, gradual learning and individual approach. The lessons may also include theory, analysis, basic of advanced composition and many other aspects depending on the student's needs and abilities. The main goal is that my students are able to get fully engaged in the process of learning and enjoy every minute of it!
