About
Hello!
My name is Toni Martin and I am here to serve as your personal acting coach! I aim to help you prepare for your next audition, class or just working on material to sharpen your skills!
I bring over twenty years of education and field experience to you with an arsenal of tools and exercises to help you deepen the specificity and relationships in your monologue and scene work.
I simply enjoy the art of story telling and the impact of verisimilitude and empathy for the human spirit that acting provides us with. We can learn so much about each other and from each other and that is one of the greatest joys I get from my job as an actor

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to speak via telephone or email prior to our first session to ask the student their specific goals and needs so I can customize their experience with me. I like to work organically and discover areas of strength and improvement along the way. I like to offer a variety of tools and techniques for the student and they can take and use what works best for them and leave what doesn't service them.

I have my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Acting from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and have been working professionally for over 20 years

I've worked with elementary/middle school students, college students and entry level acting professionals
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I just recently closed the production Nina Simone: Four Women at Arena Stage in Washington DC. This was a very special project with an extrememly talented group of artists with a message much needed in todays political climate of our country. I hope to be revisiting this show in the near future in a new production!
