About this pro

I was lucky enough to begin teaching piano while I was still in high school. I continued to teach while studying piano at the college level and completing my bachelor's degree in music therapy. My degree field and subsequent work experience with pre-school children through young adults, both with and without special needs, has allowed me to build the skills needed to address each individual's unique learning style. I've worked as a music educator and music therapist for over 15 years, and continue to enjoy maintaining my skills as a pianist and piano instructor part-time. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have regarding lessons for either you or your child. I look forward to hearing from you!

Music has been a huge influence in my life.  I very much enjoy introducing it to and sharing it with others.  Whether it's helping others explore a hobby or a new interest, or develop the skills that might lead to something more professional, my goal is always to make it an enjoyable and productive experience.

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelors of Music in Music Therapy, and am a Board Certified Music Therapist.  I completed my Masters degree in educational psychology, and am a certified Teacher of Music in the State of New Jersey, as well as a nationally certified School Psychologist.  I participate in ongoing professional development to maintain each of my certifications.

How did you get started teaching?

I began teaching others following encouragement from my own piano teacher when I was only in high school.  I continued to teach throughout my years of undergraduate and graduate training, and have maintained a small private practice while also working full time with children and young adults as both a music therapist and school psychologist.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have provided piano instruction for students as young as five, as well as adults of all ages.  In my practice as a music therapist and school psychologist, I have worked with both general and special education students of all needs and abilities, ages pre-school through young adult.
