I am a professional singer and music teacher. I have been teaching voice and piano since 1990. I have taught all levels of students from 5-65. I love to work with people and help them on their musical journey. I have graduate degrees in performance and worked 3 years on a doctorate of music. I perform in the nyc/nj metro area. I am 30 for half hour, 45 for 45, and 60 for 60.
How did you get started teaching?
Both of my parents were music teachers so I was always around music and drawn to teaching and performing. I love helping young folk discover music but I also love helping students of all ages explore music and establish a reliable technique.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students of all abilities and ages from years 5-65. I am from Chicago but I've lived in NJ for 19 years.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoyed directing an outdoor concert with my students after a year of living during a pandemic. I also have enjoyed making music during the pandemic by sharing virtual performances.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find your specialty and don't be afraid to explore. Build your muscle memory with solid tools that you can always count on.
