MISSION STATEMENT:

I treat my students with love and respect, recognize and celebrate each student’s individuality and specific needs and goals. I hope to inspire and motivate every one of my students to love music, learn to play the piano musically, and develop a beautiful heart in the process.

METHODOLOGY:
In weekly private lessons, (which include the practicing parent), I teach a combination of Suzuki ear training method along with traditional note reading, a two pronged approach that I truly believe is the best and most comprehensive musical learning experience possible. Music theory and technique are included at each lesson.

Each week along with their lesson, students also enjoy an additional 1⁄2 hour of music Tech time, using iPads and computer. I incorporate games into the curriculum as much as possible to increase the fun quotient, because learning while having fun is effortless and motivating.

I encourage creativity; many of my students compose and perform their own pieces and arrangements in addition to the standard classical repertoire, jazz, blues, ragtime, pop and new age pieces. Several of my students have won the Delaware Valley Philharmonic Orchestra Composition Competition, most recently in 2010. Many of my students are the keyboardist in various school jazz bands.

I am certified by the American College of Musicians as a piano teacher and also as an adjudicator.

The majority of my students participate in the largest piano event in the world – the American College of Musician’s Guild Auditions. All of my students consistently earn Top Talent and City Wide honors.

There are several large recital opportunities each year to allow students to showcase their musical achievements.

I believe that my students push themselves to excel because they know that I respect them, believe in them, and expect them to do their best... and they always come through.
