About this pro

Watching students grow and excel in their piano playing skills.

I am currently enrolled as a Jazz performance major with a concentration in Piano at Montclair State University at the Mason Gross School of music, in my second year.

Knowing that they are eager to learn more and practice everyday.

I will teach the roots of music from, Music Theory and Scales, to learning chords and arpeggios and most importantly, reading music.

I am a long life Pianist and I have the skills in playing Jazz, Classical, and modern music.

I have been giving Piano lessons for about a year and a half now. I live in the Central Jersey area.

I have 13 total years of experience and I enjoy playing and teaching. Teaching is one of my favorite things about piano because I get to share my skills and watch others grow.

I will be attending college to study Jazz Piano Performance to further grow my skills and raise my limits to reach.

My sons really liked Paul from the very first lesson. We really appreciate his teaching techniques and communication. It's been a great experience working with Paul and we definitely recommend his services to anyone interested in learning how to play the piano!

I have never met a more patient teacher—and being an educator myself, I’ve met a bunch! Paul doesn’t merely teach my two crazy kids how to play piano; Paul also incorporates values, habits for healthy work ethic, and music theory into their lessons. Most importantly, he is a huge proponent of growth mindset. He also encourages my children and me to reach out if we ever have questions or are confused about something. We just text him and he responds with an answer or a helpful video. He is an incredibly talented musician who also happens to be an incredibly talented teacher as well!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First I will have a new student buy a beginners book that I will think will work for them best depending on their age and experience.

I will also play for them to give a jist of what is to come in the students learnings.

As the student progresses it will go from their for what is to come.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been playing for 11 years

Montclair State University, majoring in Jazz performance piano at Mason Gross school of Music

Pianist in a cover band named The Black Ties

Performed solo gigs at restaurants, bars etc.

Performed in School plays, jazz performances, concert performances and rock band performances.
