I graduated from the City College of New York in 2013 with the highest honors for Classical Piano, and am a professional musician: out of all of my teachers, Dr. Beliavsky (whom I studied theory with) is still, to this day, one of the most unforgettable ones who have left an indelible mark on me. His level of expertise in theory, analysis, piano and composition among others is awe inspiring and thought provoking in a truly mind-altering way. He has an uncanny ability to take very complex ideas and making them clear. I am honored to say that I still consult with him to this day about multiple issues, and his level of genuine care, alongside with his phenomenal expertise, makes him, for me, a one of a kind teacher.

As a theory teacher, Patrick Kreeger possesses the exact teaching style the subject requires. Patience, availability for questions and dedication to my desire to learn best define my experience with Patrick. It was such dedication that also made him call me out when he didn’t think I was doing my best or was making careless mistakes. Perhaps this wouldn’t be that outstanding except that Patrick did all of this long distance; he was in Philadelphia and I was in Delaware. He was timely in mailing me assignments and tests, and even more so in grading and returning them. I learned more from him in the 2 years I studied with him than I did in my last year of theory in my undergrad at music school. If you have the opportunity to study with Patrick Kreeger, consider yourself lucky. You couldn’t find better quality teaching elsewhere.”

"I have been playing the piano from an early age, but it has been many years since I took formal lessons. I have always wished to become an advanced pianist, but realized I needed professional instruction to guide me on my journey. I then found Erica. I am delighted to say that, in a few short months, my expectations have not only been met but far exceeded. I am now competently playing a Chopin Etude which has long been a particular go of mine. My progress is in large part due to Erica's talent and dedication as a pianist and teacher. And, although she holds me to the highest possible standards,bour lessons are ALWAYS chock full of laughter and camaraderie. Any serious piano student would be lucky to have Erica as an instructor, as am I.

I started taking piano lessons this past year as a gift from my musically talented mother, and found Cristina through research online. For the months that I took lessons with her she was incredibly talented, patient, kind and understanding when I wasn't getting certain notes. I couldn't recommend her enough whether you are beginning or advanced. Sadly I am moving away from NY so won't be able to continue lessons with her, but if you are looking for lessons.

Glafkos is extremely professional and talented musician, very passionate about the music. He has a great attitude and has been very patient teaching my children the piano. His teaching techniques make it easy to understand new complex pieces, he is very thorough and pays attention to small but important details. Glafkos encourages not only to learn how to play the piano, but to understand the music from the inside. My children always enjoy his lessons. They started taking lessons with Glafkos almost 5 years ago and they have made a great deal of progress in their playing and more important have developed an appreciation to the beauty of classical music.

I have been a student of Peter's for a total of seven years spread over twenty-five years, first of the classical guitar and latterly of the baroque lute. I can recommend Peter unreservedly as an exceptional teacher with a rare breadth of experience of the guitar in all its genres combined with an equally rare equivalent breadth of musicianship and scholarship. Peter has many talents as a teacher of which for me the most important is that he wants you to succeed. From that grows confidence and ambition. He then backs that up with an acute ability to identify and analyse technical problems and how to deal with them. Peter's teaching practice, therefore moves on a broad front where the inevitable technical challenges involved in playing the guitar are combined with musical insight and encouragement into what is to be gained by overcoming them. This combination of technical analysis with musical sensibility I found inspiring and it propelled me to levels in guitar playing, which I would never have dared to attempt otherwise. For any guitarist at any level, the benefits of a good teacher are tremendous; it is all too easy, as I know myself, to reach a plateau where you can kind of play lots of things but nothing really well. Either that or lacking guidance, fall into bad habits which practice simply reinforces and which are then very difficult to correct. Or, the classic, sometimes you can play a piece well but other times not and each time you start the piece you have no idea whether it will be one or the other or why it is that you have no real control of the performance. Peter has the ability to sort these kinds of problems out and he sorts them out creatively and constructively in a way which always seeks to find the good in what you're doing by turning what were stumbling blocks into positive additions to your experience as a player. My experience of taking lessons with Peter was of a shrewd investment which fundamentally improved my playing. That was my experience and I think it highly likely that it will be yours as well. Real talent as a teacher is something not given to everyone but it has been given to Peter. For any player therefore wishing to benefit from the many advantages that good teaching can bring to them I would have no hesitation in beating a path to his door.
