About
I was born in Havana city, Cuba in 1973. Studied classical guitar and piano at " J.P.Duarte" music school. I obteined the Bachelor's Degree as a performer and guitar professor at the National School of Music at The" Universidadde las Artes" in Havana, Cuba. I recieved master classes from different outstanding guitarists aound the world as L.Brouwer, V.Pelegrini, A.Rodriguez etc. I have won The First award and best Cuban Music Performance at the" Guitarras de la Habana"(1987), The same year won the special award at the " Amadeo Roldan" National Guitar Competition, and the Special Award at the Guitar Contest of Havana (1989). From 1993 to 2003, I worked as a full time guitar professor at the "Conservatorio de Musica A.G.Caturla", teaching several generations of young guitarists. I was Assistant Director of the Havana Guitar Ensemble, and the Cuban Youth Guitar Orchestra, and also worked at the International Guitar Festival " Identidades(2012). I was part of the first Guitar Ensemble of Havana(1988-1991). With my husband I formed the guitar duo BONA FIDE, performing at the Cuban National Television and Radio and toured many cities throughout the country. In 2013 I moved to US. Our duo have signed a record deal and recorder their first album entitled " The Eagle Freedom"( RYCY Productions,Inc) with Latin Grammy winner and times nominated composer and producer Yalil Guerra. We have also performed on radio and in different cultural activities within the country. I have worked at the "Paganini Institute of Music" and The" MultiArts Academic", both located in Newark,NJ. Also at The Board of Education of U.City, NJ and "Outschool" . Currently I'm doing my master degree at NJCU, have won a 3rd Prize at" Marku's Albania Guitar Competition" 2022 . Visit www.wic.today.
I feel very excited about my profession. I love to teach, an example of my passion is how long time I have been teaching with very high results on my students. I love when my students are be able to play from the basic lessons to the must difficult. It is a real award to me. I want to continue being part of their lifes and loving them as they deserve.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start from the most basic steps until the most difficult piece. Teaching the best way to read music, how to reach a good flow, fluence and fredom to play any lesson.Helping them playing Scales,arpegios,chords which are the must fundamental and basic knowledge about music. Also l like to establish a good relationship between my students and l, that make our time together more confident and funny.

Bachelor degree in classical guitar, also teach piano.

I got started teaching looking up to my teachers, they were very inspirational to me.
