About

I’m a Russian trained pedagogue and performer with over 30 years of teaching experience, as faculty in colleges to working with small children. I will give you my best and I expect the same of my students: there can be no improvement without hard work and a commitment to quality. In music, we get out of it, what we put into it, just like in sports.

My students have performed at Carnegie Hall, and won awards in competitions throughout Europe and Russia. I can give you references if you like. I am a demanding teacher and I get results because I expect the best of my students and help achieve their full potential. I love working with adults and children, regardless of their musical goals. For adults especially, music lessons can be very therapeutic and a wonderful break from their regular routine. Lessons music be challenging enough to make progress, but exciting and enjoyable too so we keep up the hard work that will bring the best results. Most importantly, we all need to play with live accompaniment: I am one of the few teachers I know who has accompanied her violin students on piano in concertos and other difficult pieces.

I expect all violin students to study piano, theory and violin, requiring a 90 min lesson if lessons are done once a week. Piano students must also study theory, and can limit their lessons to 1 hour.

Olga is an experienced teacher who is sensitive to her students’ needs under all circumstances. She is warm and insightful, and understands how to get the best from each of her students regardless of their skill level. What I have particularly appreciated is her emphasis on musicality rather than mere technical accomplishment.

Olga tailors each lesson to match the needs of the student. She is able to analyze and pinpoint where improvement is needed while making the journey enjoyable!
I have studied classical violin as an adult student who already knew the basics of the instrument and she has taught me music theory fundamentals, piano, and how to overcome some major barriers that were holding back my violin progress (right arm technique). I warmly recommend lessons with Olga as she is truly a master of her craft. She will train you to go wherever you want with piano and violin as long as you are willing to put in the work and dedication.

Thanks to the professionalism of Ms. Olga, my daughter has gained confidence in herself every time she plays the violin and piano. Olga is a pleasant, respectful person, and my daughter admires her. Ciera always leaves her class with a smile!
