About
The studio has been in existence for over 30 years. During that time I have worked with beginners to professionals. I have worked with many Las Vegas Strip performers. I have numerous students present and past that while in High School auditioned and secured lead roles in the schools musicals and solos with various choral groups. My younger students have also been recognized in performances, especially the Missoula Childrens Theater that tours the US. I have younger students 5-8 that have prepared for auditions with agents in Hollywood all being hired and put on their rosters.I have students that come back time and time again through the years to prepare for performances, concerts, auditions and just to keep in good vocal shape. I also work with several individuals that are performing in Europe and Nashville via Skype. They had been students and are now working professionals. My recommendations on my website reflect the work that I do. I truly love what I am doing. I have a lot to offer due to my extensive performance career in Europe with opera companies and symphonies. I know what is needed to prepare someone for a performance career or how to get one ready to win the Karaoke contest. I have extensive knowledge about the young voice through the senior voice. Many of my students are in the Master Singers, Doug Peterson Performance Group, Super Summer Theater, Las Vegas Little Theatre, Signature Productions.
Many of my high school students go on to receive scholarships for music study at University.

I have had students come to me that have the desire to perform, but are not sure that they can do it. It is such a thrill to assist the development of each student in their voice style. I have several that are now performing professionally one in China, another at Kennedy Center, another in Europe. We continue to work via Skype. Now they are confident, employed in their field of passion and living their dream.
I have been a professional performer all my life and can give advice about the business and reality of making a career in music.
I am thrilled to share in their development and music journey.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depending on the age of the student and previous background , if any I introduce the physioogy of the voice and terms I wil use. I give a packet at the first lesson of music terms, physiological terms and pictures.
I begin with the very foundation of singing, correct breathing and exercises that the student can do at home, both young and adult students. I work to blend the registers, chest, middle and high voice. Each student will have specific exercises that I create for their vocal needs and development.
I work on feeling the resonance, tongue placement, vowels, mouth positions and how to use the breath to spin a tone.
Body posture is also introduced.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my undergraduate degree from Mills College, Oakland, CA. where I had the priviledge of working with French Composer of the "Les Six" Darius Milhaud. I also worked with Luciano Berio and John Cage. It was Milhaud that encouraged me to pursue studies in Vienna with a Fullbright Scholarship.
While in Vienna I studied for my Diploma in Music Therapy and Opera. I studied with the late great opera singer Arleen Auger, who also was the teacher of opera great Renee Flemming.
I returned to states to complete my Masters in Voice Performance at the University of Texas and worked with The famed Walter Ducloux, opera director and libretto translater.
I did my Doctorate studies at the University of Indiana, Bloomington and studied with Metropolitan Opera Dramatic Soprano, Margaret Harshaw.
I then went to Europe where I sang leading roles for many opera houses. Arleen Augers manager and husband then began to manage me.
My extensive background in performance allows me to guide those in their musical journey be it professional pursuits or local music involvement.
I continue to perform my one-woman show throughout the United States.
