Krista Solars | Violin & Fiddle Lessons

Krista Solars, a recent transplant to Las Vegas, was born and raised in Ohio, beginning her lifelong love affair with her instrument when she began taking classical violin lessons at the age of four. Beginning fiddle music at six, and going on to win countless competitions between the ages of seven and twenty-seven - including winning the state of Ohio fiddle champion title four times - she quickly became adept at the two styles, giving her versatility and a unique style. In 2010, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in violin performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, studying under Milan Vitek; and in 2013, she earned her Master's Degree - also in violin performance - from Indiana University. While studying at Oberlin, Krista began playing the baroque violin - going on to study privately with Stanley Ritchie while at IU - further adding to her musical versatility.

During the few years after her graduation from college, Krista cut her teeth playing with orchestras, country and bluegrass bands, and performing numerous concerts with pianist partner, Peter Douglas - with whom she formed Duo Verano. Krista is also a seasoned studio musician, and has recorded several professional recordings - the first released when she was sixteen.

Currently, she is working on various recording projects, and freelancing with Bella Electric Strings, along with many other Vegas-based ensembles.
