Upon our first meeting, I learn all about what you like or would like to play or sing. I think it is very important to provide the fundamentals but make our lessons engaging and fun. In piano, we will explore many different styles of music. If you want to learn chords to play leadsheets then we will do this. If you want to learn how to accompany yourself singing at the piano I can teach you how. Vocally, we have as much flexibility as you need. I can provide references if needed. I have been teaching performing for over 40 years.
I love meeting people from all over the country which is why I prefer remote teaching these days. I have worked with students of all ages ranging from 6 to 90.
I love meeting people from all over who enjoys music. I feel music is a universal language which can be therapeutic and also furthers delf growtg. There is nothing more exhilerating than seeing my student emerge into a committed musician.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The most important thing is that the student feels comfortable with me. Once we have established a rapport, I determine where they need to start depending on what I see/hear them do.
