I absolutely recommend Shak as a drumming coach. He is extremely friendly and personable. I have played drums in the past but overtime had forgotten certain things and wanted to brush up on them. He was able to pinpoint what I needed to work on and as well as what my strengths were. Overall a great lesson and would definitely book another in the very near future.

Nava was a true gem for our daughter when she started taking piano lessons at age 6. Nava always showed great patience in working with our daughter, especially after we went to online classes during the pandemic. But most importantly, she made piano fun and nurtured our daughter’s natural instincts and joy for music and learning. To help with online learning, Nava often sent video recordings of new songs, which our daughter loved and exemplified for us the care and attentiveness she shows her students.

I took lessons from Ben for about a year and he's a really nice guy. He taught me the strategies for walking and soloing and how to find my musical voice. He had his own agenda prepared for me but also asked me often if I had any other songs that I wanted to learn or analyze. His criticism was constructive and he's good at not making me feel too bad about screwing up. Peace n love

As a theory teacher, Patrick Kreeger possesses the exact teaching style the subject requires. Patience, availability for questions and dedication to my desire to learn best define my experience with Patrick. It was such dedication that also made him call me out when he didn’t think I was doing my best or was making careless mistakes. Perhaps this wouldn’t be that outstanding except that Patrick did all of this long distance; he was in Philadelphia and I was in Delaware. He was timely in mailing me assignments and tests, and even more so in grading and returning them. I learned more from him in the 2 years I studied with him than I did in my last year of theory in my undergrad at music school. If you have the opportunity to study with Patrick Kreeger, consider yourself lucky. You couldn’t find better quality teaching elsewhere.”

I am so glad we found Michelle of Take Note Lessons. We have a 5th grader and 8th grader who both actively enjoy piano lessons and are both progressing well. Michelle adapts her teaching style to fit students' personalities - we see this demonstrated weekly as our girls certainly have their individual quirks....and nothing seems to phase her! She's open and warm enough that they both feel they can talk to her and yet they quickly buckle down to work too. Strongly recommend!
