Music is a universal language. It develops and colours our imagination by strengthening and creating new neurological pathways between our brain hemispheres.
I have been teaching piano and voice lessons since 2007. All of my students learn music theory and creative and fun ways to learn rhythms. The ones who show talent and interest for writing, I encourage to compose calls to my short motifs – responses. In time, the latter practice allows them to write their own music which always excites them and fascinates me. It is a thrilling moment of anticipation when I get to see how they use their creative imagination. I encourage my students to be curious and adventurous, and to be free from fear and anxiety.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It takes me about 3 lessons to learn if the student is serious about her/his studies. I continue my lessons if it is so and I naturally discontinue the lessons if there is very little or no serious commitement to practice, doing the work I assign every week.
I engage my studnets in numerous solfeggio and rhythm exercises and plays till we have the basiscs.
After this we continue our lessons during which I assign pieces and songs from variety of genres of music. Later the student figures out what they really want to concentrate on and we do precisely that.
I always encourage the ones who show talent for writing to compose simple tunes and write poems which we later try to marry and create songs. I also teach my students how to notate everything they write into Sibelius, the most sophisticated music notating program there is.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually go to my students' place.
I charge $100 for an hour
$75 for 45 minute lessons and $65 for 30 minute lessons; the latter is my advised duration for kids below 7 or 8.
How did you get started teaching?
I first started tesaching in two music studios when I still lived in NJ. People after my performances sometimes would ask if I teach and I decided to give it a shot and becan my now very rich teaching career.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with children from 5-14, young adults from 16-26 and two adults one of whom was an 80 year-old-man who astonished me with his diligence and zeal for learning something completely new at his age!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Two of my students started composing little tunes on their own and have asked me to check their work and help them turn these tunes into singable songs. This was and continues to be one of my favorite and high achievements in my teaching career!
