Vanessa Spica Voice Studio
About
I am a professional singer and voice teacher. I work as a teaching artist and voice teacher with renowned companies such as: Inside Broadway, Acting Out! Brooklyn's Premiere Acting School, Camp Broadway, Kathryn Brickell Music, and New York City Children's Theatre. I am also a certified VIP (vocology in practice) teacher. I have been running my own vocal studio for 9 years. I love teaching my craft and I'm very passionate about healthy singing. I firmly believe that armed with the proper knowledge and tools anyone can learn to sing! I specialize in children, teens, and adult beginners.
It has been proven that children who study music are happier, smarter, and more confident. I will introduce your child to the joy of music not just by singing songs, but in a course that teaches music literacy, vocal technique, and ear training as well. Most importantly, we are having fun while embarking on this journey! I also work on acting monologues and/or sides for auditions. This comes in especially handy while preparing for musical theatre auditions. Contact me so we can discover your authentic voice together. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will begin by discussing your goals and what you'd like to be able to accomplish with your voice. I'll tailor our lessons to suit your needs. We then work together to discover your strengths and the areas in which to improve upon. I tailor our vocal technique exercises to suit your exact needs, build on your abilities and strengthen the areas that need improvement (perhaps strengthening the head voice, building stability through the passagio, or intensifying the chest/"belt" voice.) We then spend the second half of our lesson applying technique to the repertoire that you're interested in singing (musical theatre, pop, jazz, folk, etc.) Most importantly, we are having fun in this process and you are on your way to discovering your authentic voice!
