I've been singing since knee-high. I come from a family of musicians and singers. I started off singing in the Pentecostal Church and began musical theater professionally at age 11. By 19, I was on Broadway. I would later go on to write, vocal coach, sing and produce for artists such as Dr. Dre, Usher Raymond and Mary J Blige, to name a few.
I am a true artist and I enjoy the creation, growth and expansion of art. Over the years I've worked with several Platinum selling recording artists as well as beginners. The process and objective is the same:. Growth.
Crystal Johnson has been the most influential person in my life when it comes to music. When I was 13, she became my mentor. I completely fell in love with her voice. She was like my cooler, older sister and I wanted to be just like her. She taught me how to produce music, sing, write songs and most importantly how to rely on myself when it came to the creative process. I love collaborating, but being independent and having the ability to create something from start to finish, on my own, is the greatest gift Crystal could have given me. I’m beyond grateful to her for everything that she’s taught me. Not to mention, she happens to be an amazing person and a great friend.
My typical process for working with new students is to establish where they are vocally in terms of training and theory... Determine the vocal range and observe breathing patterns.
I have trained under Professor Dunn at LIU (1986) Brooklyn Campus and Chapman Roberts (Broadway Veteran)
I can work at an hourly rate andI i also offer packages and group clssses
In the mudic industry, while signed to MCA as a recording artist, I was commission to vocsk coach artists sugned to the label

A recent event that I'm fond of was a live impromptu studio session with a few of my peers. There's nothing like live music and great talent .
I'd advise a student seeking instruction to make sure they're comfortable with the teacher. You have to be vulnerable and transparent at times in order to develop the best in you, and confort is necessary to achieve such. Also, never u underestimate yourself anr your capabilities. Repititoon develops the reputation!
