About
Individualized instruction. Students are not taught what is not needed. Instructor has 40 plus years of professional on-stage experience with various showgroups and pinnacle was three (3) years at Caesar's Palace Pocono Resorts as musical director. Currently volunteers as music director/worship leader/pianist for local Baptist church. Teach practical technical skills and how to play solo or in ensemble groups. All styles except gangsta rap due to its pervasive negativity, misogynistic undertones and approval of violence. Use software programs FL Studio 12 and Quick score Elite MIDI edition to emphasize various concepts. Online instruction available at discretion of instructor via Zoom
I love it when a student "gets it." That means that all his or her work has come to fruition and they have advanced in their learning. My next task is to take them just a little bit further and conquer the next hurdle. Mine is the only studio that practices "Teach the Teacher" every tenth lesson. The student prepares a lesson and teaches the teacher. Some students love it, others hate it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I evaluate his or her prior knowledge and skill abilities, then I determine what a favorite song is they may want to learn to play. Next they fill out an application and I assign a username and password for the MTH website. If they wish to learn to read music, I will start them in one of the commercial courses, of course, I also have specialized instructional materials. If they do not want to learn to read, I will teach simple songs they can play by rote.
