Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I evaluate if the student is a complete beginner or if they have had experience playing their instrument!
Second, repertoire is assigned and we begin playing and learning!
All students receive notebooks, which I write in during the lesson and map out their week with what and how to practice. Our goals are clear and students receive a weekly practice card to keep track of their practice habits. We discuss not only the most effective ways of practicing but also how to improve how often we practice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Kent State University - UnderGraduate Degree in Music Performance
Ithaca College - Post Graduate work
