Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically speak with my students first to understand exactly what they're looking for in their experience. So basically an initial email or phone conversation is best. I usually cover two recipes per lesson depending upon the students needs. My cost per lesson includes instruction, shopping for groceries (grocery expenses not included in fee) and clean-up. I am passionate for all things food related! Whether it's basic cooking techniques and healthy recipes or kitchen essentials and set-up, I am available, able and eager to help with your needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am trained in Holistic Health Coaching through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition so I understand all dietary theories and look to incorporate healthy tips into my instruction whenever I can!
I am a chef skilled in home-cooking, healthy cooking, international cooking and comfort cooking and a recent graduate of the International Culinary Center in Soho, NY where I earned my Culinary Arts degree.
I am a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners since 2013.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard price per lesson is $125 not including groceries.
This usually includes, an initial email consultation for recipe discussion and student cooking needs, grocery shopping (grocery cost not included and clean-up! Our time together is usually two hours.
However, some meals do take longer to prep and cook and clean-up for. So depending upon our initial discussion I can let you know if there will be extra time needed and additional costs up front!!
How did you get started teaching?
I have been a health coach for several years now and started sharing my knowledge several years ago through in-home workshops and cooking "parties".
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all students willing and eager to learn!
In the past, I have held women's cooking classes and teenage health and wellness workshops.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I had the pleasure of teaching a health and wellness workshop to the Freshman girls at The Ursuline School in New Rochelle, NY. It involved a message about understanding health and how food relates to our moods and the importance of eating a good breakfast!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Have a good time! Cooking should be enjoyable and pleasurable and shareable! Hire an instructor that can offer that in addition to a knowledge base. Hire Me!!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what you would like to gain from your experience.
Do you want to eat healthier? Do you want to cook for your family? Is it easy recipes you're looking for? Holiday menus? A need for basic cooking skills?
Be specific.
