Bagwell Music Training
About
I am a versatile music teacher specializing in vocal technique training. I think understanding the basics, such as breath support and vocal placement, sets students up for vocal success! I'm confident that after a few sessions you will hear and feel a difference in your singing. I make sure to tailor my teaching approach to each student, and believe that developing a love of music is very important. I received my bachelor's degree in vocal performance at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. There I excelled in ear training and music theory as well as vocal lessons.
I believe that music and art are some of the most important things in society- it is what makes us human! I absolutely love educating musicians on all levels on how they can further reach people through their art form. Not only is it important to share ones love of music through performing, but a student can learn so much about oneself through the disciplined act of practicing a musical instrument.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know the student a little and ask them what kind of music they listen to! Then I like to learn about their musical background and musical goals. Once we've discussed this, I can begin to understand which area it is the student needs developing and devise a plan to help the student achieve their musical goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in vocal performance from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. I also have a degree in Music History from the Peabody Conservatory. I am currently pursuing my Master's of Music at the Mannes School of Music in Manhattan.
How did you get started teaching?
After I graduated from Peabody I realized I wanted to share my musical knowledge and ability with other musicians. I began teaching in New York City, and transitioned to online teaching due to COVID-19.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with very beginning violin and piano students, the youngest was 6 years old. I have worked with vocal students of all ages, from 11 to 30! My students come to me at different levels, but they all have progressed marvelously.
