I love sharing my love of music with my students whether in person or on Facetime or Skype!
I love helping people achieve their goals! I teach classical, rock, jazz, etc. I am an experienced teacher, a member of the Rochester Piano Teachers Guild, which offers my students extra performance opportunities and so much more, including meeting other pianists and composers!

Florida State University (studying under James Streem, concert pianist, composition and arranging with Charles Carter)
Eastman School of Music (studying under Frank Glazer, concert pianist, Bob Stein, jazz piano, Ray Wright, jazz arranging, arranging for musical theater)
Gena Etheridge has played piano and taught piano, clarinet, theory and composition for 20 years in Florida and New York.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I get to know the student and hopefully, the parents. I find out what interests them, their goals.
I choose music that helps achieve their goals as well as music that gives them a good foundation in music reading, piano technique and other aspects of music in general.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Florida State University, studying music education, piano and music composition from many great teachers. I then transferred to the Eastman School of Music where I studied theory, composition and piano with more great teachers. I focused on jazz studies as well at Eastman.
