Mr. King was extremely patient and made my son feel completely at ease. He made the lessons fun for my son. Something he definitely looked forward to. Mr. King also let me son learn percussion using music my “son” loved, which further engaged him. Can’t say enough good things! Fantastic teacher!

Achieved great success through lessons. With Kinyatta’s help was offered admission and scholarships to many accredited music programs (Fredonia, SU, Ithaca, Nazareth) directly out of high school. Would highly recommend!

Kinyatta was a very thorough and dedicated instructor to me for 10 years. His style of instruction put the ability to adapt and improvise as a drummer as one of the most prioritized skills so as to maximize one's ability to perform and be utilized. His spectrum of instruction is complete as well. When I began with him at 8 years old, I had no musical experience to speak of. Over the course of my time with him, his progressively advancing level of instruction gave me experience with multiple types of percussion as well as the music theory that underlies them. Because of this style of instruction, I received a complete and advanced education from one teacher, as opposed to switching between instructors as I advanced. This meant that his communication and instruction was effectively tailored to me and continuously refined, resulting in a better overall experience for me as a student. To put it simply, his instruction has excelled compared to what I have received or observed elsewhere.
