My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Matt Edwards for 3 years. She loves his style of teaching. He exhibits genuine interest in her growth as a piano player and always includes her input in song choice, etc. It is because of Matt that my daughter enjoys playing the piano! We would recommend Matt for anyone interested in learning to play the piano.

Matthew is a thoughtful and sensitive teacher who knows how to engage with young pianists. He effectively guides them toward more expressive, musical playing. I also appreciate his way of conveying solid expectations without being rigidly by the book.

Matt Edwards is hands down the best piano teacher Ive ever met. He taught my sons starting at 5 years old, and my older son is now planning to major in music as a college student, while my younger son was just offered a position as a Junior Counselor at Sonatina International Piano Camp. Matt is an outstanding pianist, with a complete classical repertoire as well as an expertise in ragtime, jass, improv and blues. His knowledge of music theory and music history is excellent, and he teaches these pieces right along with piano playing. As an educator, his musical pedagogy really sets him apart from other pianists. He knows exactly how to approach students of all ages with positivity, encouragement, and fun. He clearly enjoys his work. My childrens lives have been changed by having the benefit of Matts piano instruction in their formative years. He is the best piano teacher Ive ever known, and is a wonderful person. You cannot go wrong with Matt Edwards as your piano teacher.

Matt is an intuitive, kind, intelligent, and attentive teacher. He has firm expectations and communicates them gently and with good humor. He teaches a variety of styles and works hard to find the best ways to motivate his students. Lessons are serious and focused, but always with a healthy dose of fun. Hes also a helluva nice guy.
