About
I have been teaching piano for 30 years. I am different than other piano teachers because I can teach many different styles including classical, pop, jazz, blues, and gospel. I can also assist teach accompanying, composition, songwriting, arranging, and am a vocal coach.
I enjoy helping students reach levels of artistry that they thought were not possible.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I hold a complimentary interview lesson. I assess the student's goals, natural gifts, and learning styles. I try to be very affirming and positive.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in music education with a focus on piano from Southern University and a master's degree in curriculum, instruction, and assessment from Walden University. I have 30 years of experience as a piano teacher, 25 years of experience as a public school music teacher, 30 years as a church musician, and 35 years as a gigging musician. I started lessons at age 7 and consider myself a lifelong student, always challenge myself to learn new domains of performing and teaching.
